I’ve always loved getting lost in a good story the kind that make you forget time and the book in your hands. Barnes & Noble or any bookstore was my go-to escape. Reading was my stress relief from the everyday struggles of being a single mom to three sons', twins and a single. Nothing could have prepared me to become the main character in a story I never asked to be in. This time the story wasn’t fiction, it was real life, and it was mine. The old Elaine no longer exists. In the blink of an eye, a new Elaine Denise Daniels Taylor was created. My diagnosis gave me a whole new lease on life. I realized I had to make changes not just in myself but in my circle. 2024 was a drastic year. It tested me, reshaped me, and showed me strength I never knew I had. Life wasn’t just happening anymore life was really life for me in 2024.
